The main building of the DAHAWA was formerly the Jinan Jiangxi Guild Hall and the surrounding antique historical buildings. While conserving and repairing most of the ancient building's facades, designers reorganized the functional layout of the building complex, using cultural elements extracted from history, and through innovative spatial organization methods, integrating "new knowledge" into the "hometown" to activate architectural functions. These initiatives allow the history of the original site to actively participate in the atmosphere of the local historical and cultural block.
