The Brion Memorial was commissioned in 1969 by Onorina Brion Tomasin in memory of her late husband, Giuseppe Brion, founder and owner of Brionvega, a leading manufacturer of designer electronics. Carlo Scarpa's last work, and among his most complex, original, significant, and cherished, it was created between 1970 and 1978. The monumental funerary complex is nestled in the Treviso countryside and is accessed through a monumental entrance, characterized by a dramatic opening in the shape of two intertwined circles, a symbol of marital love on which the entire project is based.
