As the world's largest underground flood control facility, it plays a crucial role in protecting lives and ensuring the safety of the Tokyo metropolitan area. Completed in 2006, this facility is situated in the low-lying northern region of Tokyo, which is highly susceptible to flooding. It has the capacity to discharge up to 200 cubic meters of water per second into the Edo River
