Doha Museum of Islamic Art / Yan Zhao
The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in Doha, Qatar, is built on an island off an artificial projecting peninsula near the traditional dhow harbor. Designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning Chinese American architect I.M. Pei, the museum opened in 2008 and is noted for its vast collection of Islamic art spanning 1300 years. The interior was designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
