Amid urbanization and industrial change, this project reimagines a historic Hakka water-powered rice mill in Donghai Village, Zhubei. Preserving the red brick and timber core in a glass box, it becomes a vessel for knowledge, culture, and ecological education. New mono-pitch wings house a smart agriculture lab, shared kitchen, and youth living spaces. The layout revives the traditional courtyard spirit as a dynamic platform for youth innovation and community gatherings, blending traditional farming processes with modern smart agriculture, promoting cultural continuity and local revitalization.
