The project mapped Hong Kong’s pavements to reveal their unique traits, crafting expressive patterns and volumetric sculptures through iterative physical modeling. Three Tong Lau shop houses near Mong Kok’s Ladies Market were chosen, reflecting the city’s architectural identity shaped by subtle modifications. Using found objects, frames, corrugated panels, and air conditioner-like boxes, the model linked buildings to a central sculptural volume, defining sightlines and sub-spaces. Plan diagrams and sections show how this method creates complex, functional community spaces.
