Encircling the World Expo 2025 site in Osaka, The Grand Ring designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects is the world's largest wooden structure - a 2-kilometre-long elevated loop that rises 12 metres above ground like a suspended forest. Crafted with traditional Japanese joinery and built for a life beyond the Expo, it redefines sustainability not just as an architectural goal, but a poetic gesture. Under shifting light, the ring breathes with nature, dissolving boundaries between people, place and time. A circular stage not only of structure, but of shared human experience.
