Descendant House is a home where 3 generations and family units co-exist harmoniously in one structure. Each family unit has its own private zone complimented by a unique relationship with the outdoors while being connected to one another through cooking and gathering areas at the heart of the home. The program is delineated by three material masses, masonry, wood/glass, and stucco, each representing uses specific to the various family identities within the household and a relationship to the outdoors. This composition facilitates both independence and interconnection of the family members.
