Perched on a hill overlooking Port Phillip Bay, is a sustainable farmhouse designed by F2 Architecture. The concept is both a sculptural response to place and a sustainable design that is self-sufficient. The view is framed between two curved rammed earth walls that anchor the building and provide protection from the harsh summer and winter conditions. Interstitial glass walls allow views, light and ventilation, while the sheltered entry and courtyard form a cross axis that provides moments of respite. Rainwater and solar energy capture enable the farmhouse to be self-sufficient and off grid.
