"Foresting Architecture" is a rest shelter for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Rather than architecture that becomes waste after a temporary event, this is architecture that everyone creates together, uses carefully while maintaining, and finally returns to soil to become forest. We designed a process fostering attachment to architecture through cutting-edge technology and mechanisms allowing anyone to participate. We aimed for regenerative architecture where this building helps transform Yumeshima, a former waste landfill, into forest after the Expo.
