The Service Center, located in the Chengdu Plain features shallow hill landform, is designed based on a dual-core logic: Adaptation to the regional climate and adaptability to spatial transformations.In response to Chengdu's climate of hot summer, and low-speed wind throughout the year, a semi-outdoor trumpet-shaped atrium spanning the first to third floors was designed. Changing the cross-section of the space enhances natural ventilation. This passive energy-saving strategy saves up to 70,000 kWh of electricity annually, significantly improving the building's sustainability performance.
