The ancient city of AlUla, where human habitation can be traced back 200,000 years, has sheltered travelers, traders, and pilgrims for centuries, and ancient civilizations all left their marks on the extraordinary rock formations that are the backdrop. Recently, Dar Tantora hotel built inside a collection of restored mud-brick houses—opened within walking distance of a 10th-century fort and the AlUla oasis’ 200,000 citrus trees.
