The city planners, Glück + Partner Architects and I had planned to capture the building in golden evening light. Weather can play a significant part in any photographic scene. Of course, the weather took a turn for the worse. I spun the situation on its head and embraced the incoming summer storm. I acted spontaneously and quickly depending on where the sun broke through or when dramatic rain clouds formed, composing the sky and building together to create an atmosphere of theatre and excitement, which conformed well with the work of the volunteers at the Fire and Red Cross Station.
