Chiesa di Laives

In 2004, the architects Höller & Klotzner realised the extension of the parish church in Laives. The project arose from the need to integrate the German and Italian-speaking communities in South Tyrol. The completely wooden interior space is reminiscent of the sound box of a musical instrument. The curved, thin walls evoke the Temple of Exodus. The wall housing the pipe organ dialogues with the outside light filtered by the corner window through wooden frames. The space has a strong spiritual and musical character.
