Set in Portugal’s UNESCO-listed Douro region, the Quinta de Adorigo Winery embeds its interlocking naves into the topography and allows the gravity-led winemaking process. A sculptural wooden gable roof echoes the vernacular form and the vineyards’ natural curves. Built with locally sourced schist, granite, and timber, the winery integrates geothermal energy, water recycling, and native flora restoration. Designed as both a production facility and a visitor destination, it features tasting galleries and terraces framing river views, creating an encounter between architecture, wine, and nature.
