The project is sited on an extinct volcano in the Xilingol Grassland, within an excavation area that has been in place for over a decade; it aims to heal the land and restore the volcano’s wholeness. The visitor center includes a restaurant, reception hall, café, exhibition hall, outdoor plaza, roof promenade, and observation deck. Embracing architecture as a medium for expressing the volcano, the project integrates with the environment. Three independent volumes are connected by a three-dimensional roof with a promenade, establishing a relationship between people and the volcano.
