Visitors are invited to walk along and underneath, moving with the contours of the pasture, gather, rest, and engage with the space.
Trace of Land imagines a massive hay bale rolling across the alpine pasture of the Italian Dolomites, climbing, falling and leaving a trail of dry grass behind. This poetic vision materializes as a continuous, meandering line of unfurled hay across the terrain.Removed from its functional context, the hay bale becomes a sculptural trace of labor, tools and nature. At times the hay lies directly on the meadow as a path; at others it rises lightly to form shaded passages for rest and gathering, echoing the contours of the mountains while remaining tied to the land.
