KEY OPERATION INC. / ARCHITECTS is a Tokyo-based practice directed by Akira Koyama. The studio treats every project as a search for the key operation that transforms constraints - site, regulation, programme, economy, structure and local culture - into architectural value. Building on its experience in commercial project management and design in Japan and the UK, the practice works across housing, workplaces, retail, mixed-use buildings and landscapes. Its architecture connects private development with the wider city, creating coherent spatial systems that remain open to use, change and time.
