Kanazawa Umimirai Library — Coelacanth K&H Architects Designed by Coelacanth K&H Architects, Kanazawa Umimirai Library is defined by a simple cubic form wrapped in white walls punctuated by approximately 6,000 circular openings. These translucent windows filter natural light into the vast reading hall, creating a soft and evenly illuminated interior. Completed in 2011, the library reimagines the traditional reading room as an expansive, continuous space where books, people, architecture, and daylight coexist beneath a soaring ceiling.
