The Chatham Residence is set on 80 acres of forest marked by historic stone walls that trace the site’s agricultural past. These remnants informed a design rooted in presence, slowness, and daily engagement with the landscape, reflecting the clients’ desire for a life away from New York City. A roof inspired by native oak leaves flares outward to provide shade, while corrugated metal siding references regional agricultural buildings and captures light with precision. Accoya wood accents and vaulted interiors soften the palette, creating a luminous and immersive living environment.
