The project reinterprets the theater building’s facade as a cohesive urban image. The existing volume consists of heterogeneous parts: geometric, chromatic and textural dissonances fragment its appearance and fail to express its theatrical semantics. Instead of treating each facade separately, the building is enveloped in a soft shell that that emerges from the existing volume and allows it to coexist sensitively with its surroundings, without unnecessary imitation. Like the drapery of a stage curtain, the translucent, seemingly fluid membrane contrasts sharply with the rigid geometry beneath.
