Situated beneath the Jianguo Expressway in the heart of Taipei City, the Yu-Cheng Sheltered Workshop Campus transforms underutilized urban space into an inclusive community asset that provides meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The car wash and restaurant are separated to reduce noise, while a glass-brick facade improves daylighting. Built with timber and recycled steel, the project reduces embodied carbon by 22% and integrates rainwater systems to mitigate flooding. It combines social welfare with environmental and urban resilience.
