IXCAMPUS in Saint-Germain-en-Laye near Paris brings research, teaching, start-ups and production together for around 1,200 people. Reinterpreting the campus as a place of exchange between theory and practice, the project integrates architecture and landscape in a park-like setting. A sunken agora between the Teaching and Research Building and L’Incubateur creates a shared meeting place. L’Incubateur’s woven Douglas fir façade recalls the surrounding tree canopy while providing thermal protection. Timber construction and flexible spaces support a holistic approach to sustainability.
