The renovation of Sainte-Marie Hospital transforms an 1827 asylum into a contemporary mental health facility. The project leverages the site’s topography to organize spaces across multiple levels, separating logistics from patient areas for safer circulation. Historic interiors are modernized with new woodwork to enhance daylight, while their monumental exterior remains intact. Low-rise units connect directly to redesigned gardens, offering patients access to outdoor spaces and a supportive environment with expansive views over the Ardèche countryside.
