The design of the Hepokorpi Electricity Substation unites three power transmission buildings, multiple landscape power pylons, and two equipment enclosures into a cohesive whole. The buildings' organic, layered, and porous forms reflect the site's topography and the colours and spatial character of the forest, where space is layered rather than defined by clear boundaries. The woodland also inspired the use of mass timber framing in the main equipment halls, the first such application in a Finnish substation. The hyperboloid landscape pylons harmonise with the architecture of the buildings.
