Set within a “Hẻm”—Saigon’s dense network of narrow alleys—this five-storey home for a mother and her five children rethinks domestic life under extreme spatial pressure. Large clay plates slide laterally to create a layered, inhabitable terrain that counters the vertical fragmentation of surrounding tube houses. Their overlapping solids, voids, and narrow openings filter views and street noise while admitting diffuse daylight, deep shade, and natural ventilation, balancing privacy, climatic comfort, and urban proximity.
