Casa Yuzu

Casa Yuzu is a 191 m² residence in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, built on a narrow 9 x 27 m plot near a natural reserve. Conceived as introspective architecture, it turns inward toward private courtyards, shielding itself from surrounding urban noise. The ground floor holds a double height living area, an island kitchen and dining space, while the upper floor contains three ensuite bedrooms with jute-lined closets. Raw stone walls up to six metres high, washed concrete and local timber define honest materiality, supported by cross ventilation and native vegetation for lasting bioclimatic comfort.
