Port Side

Port Side transforms a modest 1950s La Jolla coastal residence into a new work of architecture shaped by constraint. Required to retain the existing perimeter walls, the design rebuilds from within, reclaiming an overlooked courtyard as the home’s environmental and experiential heart. Light, landscape and ocean breezes are drawn deep into the plan, while carefully framed views extend toward the Pacific. A restrained palette of stone, warm wood and metal unifies architecture and interiors, creating a timeless home rooted in its coastal setting.
