Mass Timber Effect reimagines an obsolete San Francisco gas station as regenerative post-carbon winery. Replacing an architecture of fossil-fuel extraction and consumption, the project uses mass timber as a renewable structural system and a fog-harvesting façade to capture water from the city’s coastal climate. Collected fog supports on-site cultivation and wine production, creating a cycle from atmosphere to architecture, agriculture, and consumption. The project transforms a former fuel station into a civic winery where structure, ecology, and urban life converge.
