Mediated Fabric

Intervening in one of Korea’s most historically consequential works of modern architecture, the project treats heritage not as a fixed object of preservation but as an active field of critique. Between Kim Swoo-geun’s dense concrete-and-brick Raumplan and the later glass-and-Domino extension, it inserts a third tectonic order: a column-free tensile steel frame wrapped in perforated fabric. As tension alters the skin’s porosity, structure itself produces phenomenal transparency, allowing a new generation to contest a national legacy while extending its unfinished architectural discourse.
