Flowing - RWTH Aachen West Complex Building Design

Aachen West Library + Station Complex transforms a transport node into a civic space for RWTH Aachen Campus West and city. Guided by the concept of “flowing,” the project combines library, station, landscape and climate infrastructure through open ground levels, bridges, atriums and planted platforms. A blue-green network collects, slows and reuses rainwater while improving biodiversity and microclimate. By mixing mobility, learning and public life, the project creates a porous urban threshold that connects campus and city and proposes a resilient model of social and ecological infrastructure.
