RE-STACK : A Vertical University of Digital Sciences, Innovation & Technology designed to breathe and change

Re-Stack is a vertical university at the edge of Sydney's Tech Central- 101 Goulburn. Instead of demolishing a 1963 Brutalist car park that sits over six live rail lines, the project keeps its concrete frame as permanent structure. Everything inside is built to change. The living floors are two-storey timber habitats that families can grow or shrink by adding and removing CLT wall panels. At the top, the residential modules can be lifted out and swapped, becoming teaching space when the university needs to expand. It is a 45,000 m² building made to adapt over its life instead of being rebuilt.
