Haniyasu Kiln is a ceramic kiln built from the earth of Satoyama. The process begins with caring for the landscape rather than building itself. Through rice cultivation and forest maintenance, materials like rice straw, rice husks, bamboo, and logs are turned into building materials. Emerging from this ongoing practice, the kiln becomes part of the landscape as a new actor that expands access to local resources and encourages their transformation into architecture. It enables the production of ceramics, tiles, and bricks, creating new possibilities for renovating old houses and constructing.
