The project is a new memorial park commemorating the life of Yisabu, a legendary general/administrator of Silla Kingdom. Titled “Memorial in the Paths”, the project tells the story of Yisabu and his voyage to the islands of Usanguk in 512 A.D., while highlighting inherent qualities of the site with new paths that weave various contextual elements including the picturesque mountain, historic temple and ruins, and the existing community buildings and streets with the new memorial. The design celebrates the cultural and historic significance of the site for inhabitants and tourists of all ages.
