Could you share some background about yourself or your practice?

Guanhong Chen: I am a Visual Artist and Architect. My works focus on cities, architecture, and spaces,combining typology and topography, exploring issues of region, settlement, and culture.

What was the brief for the award-winning Details?

Guanhong Chen: “God is in the details” The art of building Essentially, it is a poetic activity Sublimation of Architectural Art Not only does it depend on the overall quality And it requires precise details Revealing the Relationship between Materials and Construction The details of architecture are both carriers of functionality, aesthetics, and spirit It is also the architect’s response to the essence of space Details refer to everything

Which outcomes of Details are you most proud of, and why?

Guanhong Chen: In 2025, I held my solo exhibition Bordergraphics in Shanghai, and my works were exhibited at PARIS PHOTO in France. The solo exhibition reviewed my creative works over the past few years, serving as a summary of this artistic phase. Participating in PARIS PHOTO, the world’s top-tier photography fair, marks a significant milestone for my works.

What inspires your work, and who or what has had the strongest influence on your approach within your discipline?

Guanhong Chen: My background in architecture and passion for photography have led me to find the intersection of the two disciplines in the field of architectural photography. The theories and works of different architects and photographers have enabled me to observe and reflect on the world from various perspectives.

What does receiving an Architecture MasterPrize mean to you, and how do you see it influencing your future work or practice?

Guanhong Chen: It is my great honor to receive Architecture Master Prize, which will encourage me to keep exploring and breaking new ground in the creation of architectural images.
