People in downtown Baton Rouge and the Water Campus have limited access to the waterfront of the Mississippi River due to physical barriers. To connect people with public spaces and the Mississippi River, this project creates a levee park adjacent to the Water Institute, the main tenant on the Water Campus. The riverfront park will serve as an outdoor educational space for residents and visitors to be informed about coastal protection and the campus's research. The proposed design increases the social, recreational, and educational opportunities to support the vision of the Water Campus.
