At the start, everything and everyone is foreign, but with new communities come new relationships. The Waterdown Rotary Memorial Park Skate Loop is a 7-hectare site designed by Canadian landscape architect Brad Smith that enables all demographics to participate collectively. In the bustling urban environment, the recreational park is a category of town square where all are alike when they lace-up skates, kick a ball or sit on a bench along the pedestrian pathway. To observe this successful human-centric recreational park, one must observe movement in both the physical and the relational.
