This project consists in the adaptive reuse and extension of an existing and neglected brutalist tower from the 1970s, in central Lisbon, Portugal. Originally conceived as an office building, the project aims to transform the tower into the Health School of Higher Education of the Red Cross Portugal. The project aims to achieve the NZEB standards serving as an example of a sustainable renovation of an existing highrise structure. Furthermore, the school is to become a vector of urban transformation for the marginalized neighborhood of Alcantara valley.
