Key component of revitalization of entire Îlot Overdale, vacant for more than 25 years, this major restoration project brings back to memory the history of the house and its famous owner, Louis-Hippolyte La Fontaine, the first French-Canadian prime minister of Canada East. The study and analysis of the heritage, historical, cultural, and architectural value of the residence, as well as the advice of experts, judiciously guided the design and execution choices. In addition to the house restoration, a large green space planted with apple trees evokes the orchards that long occupied the property.
