Designed to support the SkyTrain expansion, Operations Control Centre 2 is a state-of-the-art, four-storey facility that synthesizes complex site constraints in a strikingly simple architectural gesture. Forming an ellipse in plan, the curved building skin flares outwards to form a triple-height lobby, opening onto a 24-hour control room with translucent clerestory at its core, and large data centre on the ground floor. Brushed stainless-steel cladding generates richly-coloured reflections on the faceted exterior, while large triple-glazed windows follow the strict structural grid.
