The Wangen Tower on the grounds of the State Garden Show 2024 in Wangen, Germany, is the world's first accessible observation tower made of load-bearing, self-forming wooden components. Under the leadership of Prof. Achim Menges and Prof. Jan Knippers, the IntCDC Cluster of Excellence “Integrative Computer-Based Planning and Construction for Architecture” was developed at the faculty Architecture and urban planning at the University of Stuttgart created this groundbreaking wooden tower.
