TerraFlare by Haochen He and Linhao Li
TerraFlare is a climate-adaptive infrastructure and landscape system in LA’s wildfire-prone forests, combining fire breaks, a rammed-earth fire dike, and Direct Air Capture towers. These towers remove atmospheric CO₂, harvest fog and solar energy, and serve as public watchpoints and ecological nodes. The design merges fire resilience, carbon mitigation, and community engagement into a replicable model for sustainable futures. It reimagines wildfire not as disaster, but as an opportunity for restoration, education, and climate action.
