Yaolin Fairyland is renowned for its winding and intricate landforms, and its stunning, diverse landscapes, earning the title of "The Crown of All Caves in China." Around 270 million years ago, the Yaolin area was once a shallow sea. Fossils of marine creatures such as spiral snails, coiled worms, and seashells can still be found in the rocks of the region’s mountains. After several orogeny events, including the Hercynian and Himalayan mountain-building movements, the current geological landscape was formed.
