Five decades after enchanting some 50 million visitors, the site of the century’s most successful World’s Fair (EXPO 67) has become a wonderland again through a sensitive, strategic and sustainable transformation by transdisciplinary designer Lemay. The island site, south of Montreal, now speaks a contemporary design language based on Expo’s strong identity, through landscape and building architecture, urban design, branding and signage by Lemay. Its four-season public space is now defined by a whimsical central concourse, a 65,000-seat natural amphitheater, riverside views and an event village.
