Originally opened in 1928 as a 1M-square-foot Sears, Roebuck, & Co. regional warehouse, the reinvented 401 Park is a work/play hub linking Boston’s Fenway and Longwood Medical neighborhoods. Elkus Manfredi Architects stripped interiors back to their structural bones to create a magnificent two-story atrium and the 25,000-sf Time Out Market, featuring massive windows that open to outdoor seating and a public park. The reinvented landmark honors the rich history of this neighborhood cornerstone while activating ground-level connections and creating contemporary, lively day/night destinations.
