The church in Ferrara (Italy) combines formal lightness, traditional materials, and profound symbolic value, designed to integrate with the territory: it was the first Italian religious building by EMBT by Benedetta Tagliabue, capable of interpreting architectural sacredness in an organic and community key. The goal was to create an “archetypal, circular and enveloping” space, which was at the same time “a humble hut” and a place of light, meditation and community: hence the strong materiality of the interior spaces, enhanced by the works of the artist Enzo Cucchi.
