Life After Oyster is a research and education facility in Tongyeong that translates natural cycles into architecture for ecological recovery. In the area damaged by oyster farming, the project collects abandoned shells and returns them to the sea, mimicking the cycle of oysters for water purification and habitat restoration. Building’s units reinterpret the organic forms of shells, adapting naturally to their context. It seems integrated to the landscape, interacting with the ecosystem and facilitating ecological circulation. Therefore, it offers new vitality to both community and marine life.
