Alluvial Decoder is a site-specific climate-focused intervention along the City of Raleigh's greenway on the banks of Crabtree Creek. The project is intended to (and does) flood regularly, putting flooding on display and working as a real-time barometer/memorial for climate related issues. It radically transforms the site, best tells the story of its history, promotes biodiversity, improves stormwater resiliency and invites long overdue conversations about climate change and how we develop near waterways - all while becoming a destination for visitors seeking it out purely for arts sake.
