About the AAP

The mission of the American Architecture Prize is to advance the appreciation of quality architectural design worldwide. Celebrating creativity and innovation in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design, AAP is open to submissions on a global level, accepting entries from architects all around the world.

Winners are selected by our esteemed jury of architects and leaders in the architecture world, and will receive the AAP trophy, extensive publicity showcasing their designs to a worldwide audience, and more.

"For me, great architecture is about context: a built piece that engages in a thoughtful dialogue not only with its physical surroundings, but also with other forms of context—its social purpose, the political and planning processes that enabled it, its historical context. And like any engaging conversation, great architecture often has a hook, or a spark – something in its form, detailing, or it may even be in its quality of stillness — that makes you want to dig deeper, and spend time getting to know the piece and listen to what it tells you about its surroundings."
