Joshua Jih Pan completed his bachelor of science degree at Cheng Kung University in Taiwan in 1963. He subsequently received his professional degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas in 1966 and Master of Science degree in Architecture/Urban Design from Columbia University in New York City the following year.

In 1981, Joshua Jih Pan founded J. J. Pan and Partners. The firm has received international acclaim for its range of planning and building projects, across all typologies and scales, in addition to numerous appearances in publications. Mr. Pan was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 1994 and received Taiwan’s prestigious ‘Outstanding Architect’ Award for his lifetime achievement in 1996.

He was awarded Class I registered architect status in China in 2009, the Outstanding Alumnus Award of National Cheng Kung University in 2013, and the National Award for Arts in 2015.
